F.A.Q

Q: Do I have to be a member to go to Key Club events?

A: No! Anyone is welcome to attend the events we send out. However, if you want to be eligible for service award from Key Club international (plaques, certificates), you need to be a DUES PAID member.

Q: What is a dues-paid member?

A: A dues-paid member has completed the registration process which can be seen in our “Register” tab on our website. It’s a FOUR-step process. First, sign up on the online registration form (a Google Form). Second, print the Trip Permit and Medical Form and fill it out. Next, turn in the two forms at the next meeting to one of the executive board members. Finally, pay the fee of $12 (either cash or checks payable to Westview Key Club.

Q: How do I sign up for an event?
A: On the events page and under each event, there is a sign-up form. You can find these sign-up forms in the events spreadsheet.

Q: How do I join Key Club?
A: If you want to be on our email list, you can contact us at wvkeyclub@gmail.com or fill out the contact us page. We have meetings every other Wednesday during lunch in Room L113. See “What is a dues paid member?” if you wish to become a dues paid member. Although it is NOT required to pay dues in order to attend events, it will allow you to apply for leadership positions, vote for executive board candidates, attend fun events like Fall Rally South and DCON, receive awards at our end of the year banquet, and more!

Q: What do I have to do in order to get my hours?
A: In order to get your hours you must take a picture (preferably candid) at the event and fill out the google form underneath the section “Hours”. The button that takes you to the form will be titled “request to add to hours form”.

Q: When and how often is the hours spreadsheet updated?
A: Hours are put in on a weekly basis.

Q: What is the division?
A: As Key Club is an international program, there are many clubs throughout the world. With that, Key Club is organized into many different levels. Westview Key Club is a part of Division 37 South with other Key Clubs from different schools in San Diego.

Q: Can I still earn hours from a volunteer event that isn’t associated with Key Club?
A: Yes, capped at 15 hours, you can fill out the hours form and label it as outside hours and they will be included in your total hours.

Q: Do I have to go to all the meetings?
A: No, at meetings we go over upcoming events, important updates, and sometimes have service projects which you can get hours from and bond with other club members. A meeting recap will also be sent out by email.
